| How Did we Get Here? Bob and I decided to go to church for the benefit of our children. We figured that our relationship with God was just fine, but the kids needed to "know about God". We went to several churches in Toledo, and finally, one Sunday morning it just so happened, we ended up at Hope Baptist Church listening to Pastor Rick Monday morning came and we were off to work in separate cars going different directions. On the way to work, at about the same time, we both asked Jesus Christ to forgive us of our sins. Needless to say, we went home very different people! We began to attend church regularly, read our Bibles, and learn as much as we could about this new life that God had given us through his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. At the missions conference at Hope in October 1997, Brother Bob Murphy, who was at the time a missionary to Romania, presented the work to Hope. Through this, God called Bob to the mission field of Romania. We sold our home in Toledo, and moved to Pensacola, Florida to go to the Pensacola Bible Institute. During our years in Pensacola, we learned a great deal from Dr. Ruckman, Brother Donovan, Brother Turner, and Brother Forte. After graduation, we hit the road to visit over 70 churches, and a year later we were living in Baia Mare, Romania. Life has never been the same! |
